Frequently asked questions

Materials, prepared environments, coaching, delivery and safety — the questions families ask us most often.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

What ages do you work with?+

Children from birth to six years. Every material and every prepared environment package is mapped to an age band — 0–1 (Nido), 1–3 (Toddler) and 3–6 (Casa) — so you can choose what fits your child right now.

What makes your toys different from ordinary toys?+

Our Developmentally Appropriate Materials are made of solid wood with non-toxic, water-based finishes, and each one isolates a single skill — grasp and release, visual discrimination of size, the pincer grip, phonetic word building. They are self-correcting, so a child sees their own progress without an adult marking it.

How do I know which material to buy first?+

Filter the shop by your child's age band, then start with one material per developmental area rather than several at once. If you would rather talk it through, book a short consultation and we will recommend a starting shelf.

What exactly happens in a Prepared Environment Setup?+

We visit your home or nursery, observe how your child moves through the space, then produce a floor plan and material list. Once approved, we deliver, install and style the room, and finish with caregiver coaching sessions so the setup keeps working after we leave.

Do I need to buy new furniture for a setup?+

Not necessarily. We reuse what already works in your home wherever we can and only specify new pieces where height, safety or accessibility require it.

How long does a setup take?+

A single room is usually planned and installed within 2–4 weeks of the home visit, depending on furnishing availability. Whole-home projects typically run 4–8 weeks.

What is covered in Educational Consultation Services?+

Developmental milestones, positive discipline, routines and independence, plus trauma-informed attachment strategies for foster and adoptive families. Sessions are 60 minutes, online or in person.

Do you support foster and adoptive families specifically?+

Yes. Attachment bonding and behavioural support for children joining a new family is a core part of our consultation practice, and we adapt the prepared environment to support felt safety and predictable routines.

Are your materials safe for babies who mouth everything?+

Infant materials use non-toxic finishes and rounded, sanded edges. Always follow the stated age band and supervise play — items with small parts are not suitable for children under three.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?+

Orders ship in 2–4 business days. Lagos deliveries arrive in 2–3 business days and other states in 3–7. Shipping is free on orders over ₦138,750.

Can I return something?+

Yes — unused materials in original packaging can be returned within 14 days. Faulty or incorrect items are replaced or refunded in full. Full details are on our Shop Policies page.

Do you work with nurseries and schools?+

We do. Institutions can request classroom setups, volume pricing and staff training. Send us your room count and age bands for a quote.

Are the printable activity sheets free?+

Yes. Every material's product page includes a free printable activity sheet and a caregiver usage guide, licensed for use in your own home or single classroom.
