Preparing a 'Yes' Space at Home

A calm, child-sized corner where everything is safe to touch builds independence and cuts down on daily power struggles.

Preparing a 'Yes' Space at Home

Start small

You don't need a whole room. One low shelf, a soft rug and a few well-chosen materials are enough to begin.

Less is more

Offer six to eight activities at a time, each on its own tray or basket. Rotate items every week or two based on what your child is using.

Child-height everything

Hooks for coats, a low mirror, a small stool by the sink. When children can reach what they need, they do more for themselves — and feel proud doing it.
