Building a Language-Rich Home
Simple daily habits — naming, narrating and reading together — that grow vocabulary from birth.

Narrate the day
Describe what you are doing as you do it: 'I'm cutting the orange. It's juicy.' Babies absorb the rhythm of language long before they speak.
Use real words
Children love precise names. Say 'hibiscus', 'mango', 'spatula' — they will surprise you with how quickly they learn.
Read every day
Choose books with realistic pictures for younger children. Pause, point and let your child turn the pages. A few minutes daily makes a big difference.
